The Personnel Commission hears employee appeals and alleged violations of personnel rules or matters involving alleged discrimination and certifies its findings to the City Council.

1. Residency: According to Section 2.24.030 of the El Cajon Municipal Code, applicants must be a resident of the City at the time of applying for a commission and continue to reside in the City during the term of office. Applicants nominated by the employee associations are not subject to this requirement according to Section 2.24.110 of the El Cajon Municipal Code.

2. Members are required to file a Form 700 according to provisions of the Political Reform Act, the Fair Political Practices Commission, and the City's Conflict of Interest.

Section 2.24.110 of the El Cajon Municipal Code specifies the composition of the Commission as follows:


Terms are for four years. The Commission meets as needed on the 4th Thursday of the month at 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. Contact Department: Personnel (619-441-1736).
