The Community Development Department provides for orderly growth, development and redevelopment of the City through the application and implementation of the General Plan, Zoning, and building codes.
Community Development's Project Assistance Center aids residents, property owners, businesses, and developers with their projects. Our development teams include fully-integrated Planning, Engineering, Building and Housing Services, enabling the City of El Cajon to guarantee the fastest and most effective permit processing times of projects anywhere in San Diego County.
The City of El Cajon will be hosting a Development & Permitting Roundtable on June 20, 2024, at 9 am at Toyota of El Cajon, located at 965 Arnele Avenue.
