Adopted District Election Map

Background

A City-sponsored measure, called "Measure S", passed in the November 2016 general municipal election with 69% of the vote. As a result, it officially amended the City Charter to establish district elections within the City of El Cajon, beginning in 2018.

Beginning in January 2017, the City Council initiated a process to adopt a City Council District Boundary Map.   The City was dedicated to make the entire process transparent, it hosted multiple workshops and hearings, and invited the public to submit draft boundary maps.
