  • What are the requirements for becoming a Police Cadet?

    • Age: Between the ages of 16-201/2
    • Education: Must be able to demonstrate proof of high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, or be currently attending high school with a G.P.A of 2.5 or above.
    • Background: Must be a U.S. Citizen, or in the process of obtaining such, and at the time of appointment, must be of good character, must have acceptable criminal and driving history, and must have the personal integrity required to work in the law enforcement field.
    • Driver’s License: Must have a valid California driver’s license.
    • Academy: Must be able to pass a Cadet or Reserve Academy as prescribed by the department.
