Free Smartphone Emergency App 

iPhone and Android smartphone users, download the free San Diego County Emergency App to receive information on preparedness, response, and recovery.  There is City of El Cajon specific information in the social media and community sections of the App.  

Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program 

The CERT program educates people about disaster preparedness and the hazards that may impact the area they live.  These free CERT sessions will train you in basic disaster response skills, such as:

• Disaster Preparedness / CERT Organization
• Disaster Medical Operations / Triage
• Fire Extinguishers / Light Search & Rescue
• Disaster Psychology
• Hazardous Materials / Terrorism

Using the training taught in the classroom and during exercises, CERT members will be better prepared to also assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following a disaster or other unexpected event when professional responders are not immediately available to assist.
