Resume of Incident:
On 01/14/16, at approximately 12:30 PM, officers responded to a 911 call that came into the El Cajon Police Communications Center of a homeowner who had been confronted by a burglar at his home in the 2400 block of Chatham Street, in the City of El Cajon. The homeowner reported that he was confronted by a male suspect inside his residence when he arrived home. The unknown male threatened the homeowner with a knife, although none was seen. The suspect then fled from the residence and was last seen jumping yard fences as he fled. El Cajon Police Officers quickly responded to the area and set up a perimeter. Over the next two hours, El Cajon Police with the assistance of the Sheriff’s helicopter and CHP Canine conducted an extensive search of residences in the area, however was unable to locate the suspect.
The suspect is described as a white male in his 30’s with a muscular build, wearing jeans and no shirt. A red Honda vehicle was located near the residence but there is no confirmation it was being driven by the suspect.
